Yes, I agree with the rules and regulations of the Madrasah.
Please carefully read the madrasah rules and regulations.
These rules have been drawn up and agreed upon by the madrasah management of Madrasah Daar Al-Hadeeth. The purpose of these rules is to ensure that a positive learning atmosphere exists at all times, so each member of the madrasah is truly valued and able to develop their skills and reach their full potential. These rules are not negotiable, and the madrasah will uphold them. The most beneficial and pleasant learning environment is one where mutual respect prevails. This is achieved through good manners and courtesy. We hope that parents and staff will work together to ensure that every student understands these rules and why they are necessary. Parents should not give instructions to their child(ren) that go against madrasah teachings.
Time of Madrasah
Students are to arrive at the madrasah at the starting time and leave or be picked up once the session is over. Management or members of staff are not responsible for any students outside the madrasah. If students arrive more than 15 minutes after classes start, they will be kept behind to make up for the time missed. Parents/Guardians are requested to ensure their child(ren) has relieved themselves (toilet and wudhu) before coming to the madrasah, although there are wudhu and toilet facilities available. Parents/Guardians who drop off and collect their child(ren) by car should adhere to safe parking practices and ensure that no roads or driveways outside the madrasah are obstructed in any way. Similarly, parents/guardians are requested to be as quiet as possible when entering and leaving the madrasah to avoid causing any inconvenience to our neighbours.
Fees
Registration fees must be paid at the time of admission with the submission of the application form. Fees are to be paid monthly and on time. Registration and fees are non-refundable.
Dress Code
Students must be dressed appropriately. The uniform for boys is a plain thobe and hat of any suitable colour, and the bottoms must not overlap the ankles. The uniform for girls is a plain abaya (must be below the ankle) and scarf of any suitable colour. Students are not allowed into the madrasah with trendy outfits or haircuts, e.g., wedge, short shave back and sides, Mohican, etc. Failure to comply may mean that parents/guardians are asked to collect their child(ren) or have them sent home.
Attendance
Parents/Guardians must notify the madrasah in advance if they wish their child(ren) to leave early for any reason. Parents/Guardians are requested not to arrange family holidays during term time. Where this is unavoidable, a request for leave of absence should be made in writing to the madrasah in advance of the dates of absence. Continued absence and lateness without a genuine reason is unacceptable and may result in the student being removed from the madrasah.
Performance
Students will be expected to make steady progress throughout the year in all subjects. Qaai’dah-level students will be expected to progress in each lesson according to the targets set by their teacher. Qur'aan-level students will be expected to read a specified portion from the Qur'aan (with Tajweed) in each lesson and continuously progress in chapter recitation, as well as revise all previously learned chapters. Hifdh-level students will be expected to memorise a specified portion from the Qur'aan (with Tajweed) in each lesson, progress in chapter memorisation, and revise all previously memorised chapters. They are also required to memorise all the Tajweed Rules and apply them accordingly. Students will be expected to learn additional subjects (Fiqh, Aqeedah, Arabic Writing, Dua, Hadeeth, etc.) specified at their level. Students must complete all set homework.
Conduct
A Parent/Guardian must not enter a classroom during madrasah times without the teacher's permission. Students must learn their homework before coming to the madrasah and should revise daily for one hour. Students will be provided with a diary at registration in which teachers will note student progress. Parents/Guardians should check and sign the diary and leave a comment if they wish. All students must bring their own stationery to class, including a pen, pencil, rubber, sharpener, ruler, and preferably colours. Parents should encourage their child(ren) to maintain high standards of discipline and behaviour at the madrasah and while travelling to and from the madrasah. Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated at any time and may result in dismissal. Abusive language towards teachers or any staff member will not be tolerated and will be treated seriously, potentially resulting in dismissal. Mobile phones, MP3 players, or any other devices that distract students from their studies are not allowed and will be confiscated if seen. Confiscated items can be collected at the end of the madrasah from the relevant staff. Students are requested to use the madrasah facilities appropriately. Parents/Guardians will be held responsible for any damage caused by their child(ren) to the madrasah. Parents/Guardians must not advise children contrary to the Islamic teachings of the madrasah, as this will confuse the child and hinder their progress.
Exams
There will be a compulsory final exam at the completion of each level of study. Students will have midterm exams and a final exam at the end of the year. Final exams will cover all subjects taught, i.e., reading Qur'aan/Qaai’dah, reading memorised chapters, and Islamic Studies. If a student cannot attend an exam, the madrasah must be informed in writing in advance, and the madrasah will assess the case and decide whether the student qualifies for a deferral. If the reason for absence from an exam is accepted, the student will be allowed to sit a deferred exam. Exam procedures and requirements will be explained to students prior to the exam.
Discipline
We want to ensure that your child progresses well in the madrasah; however, we will not tolerate consistent misconduct. Teachers will establish appropriate punishments for students who are misbehaving or disturbing the class. Consistent misbehaviour will result in detention, with the child staying behind after class on the following madrasah day (either Saturday or Sunday). Consistent lateness without a valid excuse will result in the child staying behind to make up for the missed time at the start of the class. Consistently low performance in the madrasah syllabus will result in the child staying behind on the following madrasah day to ensure they come prepared, having completed their lesson and homework. If, after steps are taken by teachers to discipline a child, the misbehaviour and poor performance persist, the child will be removed from the madrasah.
Complaints
In the event of a complaint, please do not hesitate to speak with a teacher or submit the complaint in writing to the madrasah.
Important Notes
If the madrasah determines that the parent or student is incapable of following the rules, the student may lose their place at the madrasah.
